Fine on paper, exhausted underneath.

I work with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, burnout, identity questions, difficult transitions, and the inner critic that never lets up.

What we might work on.

Much of my practice is professionals, founders, students, and other high-achieving people whose lives look capable from the outside and feel relentless from the inside.

Anxiety and depression
Worry, low mood, rumination, and the habits that keep them running.
Perfectionism and self-criticism
The inner critic that feels productive and quietly burns you into the ground.
Burnout and high-responsibility roles
Founders, executives, clinicians, students, and caregivers. Success and exhaustion coexist more often than anyone admits.
Identity and life transitions
Career shifts, relationship changes, and lives that no longer fit.
Cancer-related adjustment
Support for adults treated for cancer in childhood or adolescence, and for what comes after treatment.
Emotions and relationships
Naming what you feel, and learning to soothe yourself without abandoning yourself.

Group therapy can offer a sense of connection, perspective, and relief from feeling alone in one’s thoughts. Hearing others describe experiences that feel familiar can be validating, while the group also creates space to receive feedback and try new ways of relating. You can explore group psychotherapy on its own or alongside individual therapy.

What is CBT?

Common questions

Is my problem big enough for therapy?

You do not have to be in crisis to deserve help. A lot of the people I see are functioning well and quietly miserable, and that is worth taking seriously.

How long does this take?

The length of therapy depends on what brings you in, what you hope to change, and how the work unfolds over time. Rather than setting an arbitrary timeline at the outset, we establish clear goals together early on and revisit them regularly, so you have an ongoing sense of direction, progress, and what we are working toward.

What if I have tried therapy before and it did not help?

I would want to understand what felt unhelpful about your previous experience. That information can help us identify whether the issue was the therapeutic approach, the fit, the timing, or something else. We can then be thoughtful about what you need from therapy now and how to make the work feel more useful and responsive to you.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, psychologists do not prescribe. If medication is part of your care, or you want to explore whether it should be, I am glad to coordinate with your physician or psychiatrist.

Can I do individual therapy and a group at the same time?

Yes, and for some people the combination works better than either alone. The groups I am building are described on the group psychotherapy page.

Do you work with people virtually?

Yes. My practice is fully virtual, which means we can meet from wherever you are most comfortable. Let me know where you live when you write, since licensure rules vary by place.
